Proteus  Xanthus General Intelligence Engine

The Xanthus technology is a proprietary general intelligence engine developed by Artificial Ingenuity, LLC. The Xanthus architecture is based upon the theoretical models developed over the last decade by Ted Warring, which were strongly influenced by the work of Dr. Marvin Minsky and his classic "The Society of Mind".  This architecture is a multiple non-compromising agency based heterarchical generalized learning system.  The engine is scalable and portable, with sensory and action abstraction layers to facilitate generalized application.

Our initial testing results have been promising, and show a faster rate of return when provided as wide a sensory channel as possible.  Best results have been achieved with an internal agency clocking operating at least four times the rate of sensory quanta input.  Our major current challenge is in reorganizing the memory structure to a multiple staged (prioritized) system, not unlike short-term, mid-term, and long-term memory function in the human brain.  This has proven necessary to minimize the goal and task conflict between abstract agencies and shorter loop reactive agencies.

We have begun to move from in-box simulation to real-world testing via a remote robotic sensory platform.  This has lead to improved insights regarding shorter loop in-built goals (instincts), and how to balance these with abstract agency goals.  The test results have shown a full spectrum from catatonia to schizophrenia depending upon the balance of these factors.  Our initial remote sensory platform contains sonar, vision, and audio sensory channels.

EXAMINING THE SOCIETY OF MIND, Push Singh, Media LabMassachusetts Institute of Technology

Abstract.
This article examines Marvin Minsky's Society of Mind theory of human cognition.  We describe some of the history behind the theory, review several of the specific mechanisms and representations that Minsky proposes, and consider related developments in Artificial Intelligence since the theory's publication.

Xanthus remote (Figwac2) proof of concept prototype

Although we believe that the software is of much greater importance than the robotic sensory platform, due to popular demand we are providing an additional page with information about the hardware platform.  Our management would like to stress that the Figwac2 platform is a proof of concept aid to the Xanthus software system only, and is therefore not intended to be aesthetically pleasing, nor representative of future products.  We are currently designing next generation specific use platforms which will be far better implemented from a commercial standpoint.
